Conference Location
The Conference will be held in the auditorium at Whitehead Building (Clifton Road). If you are commuting in from the local area, park in the Micheal Street Parking Deck. Come into the building and Pat May will have your permit to place in your car for parking. Please email Pat, pat.may@curecmd.com, if you will be needing a parking permit.
Lodging
To calculate total number of rooms needed, we need to know everyone’s date of arrival and departure. Please send an email to Pat May, pat.may@curecmd.com with your date of arrival and date of departure.
Conference participants will be staying in either Clifton Towers or Woodruff Residential center.

Check in
- From 4:00-9:00 pm you will check in at the Woodruff Residential Center as part of the CMD conference
- If you need to check in prior to 4:00 pm, send an email to Pat May at pat.may@curecmd.com
- If you check in after 9:00 pm, you will need to go to Alabama Hall, 1615 Pierce Drive
- If you need to contact the check in person, call 404-727-0427 (between 8:00 am and midnight)
- Parking is available at both Woodruff and Clifton tower. You will be issued a parking permit upon check in. If you will need a parking permit, send an email to Pat May
Check out
- For conference participants departing on Saturday, check out time is 7:00-10:00 am in Woodruff
- For conference participants departing on Sunday, check out will be in the Alabama Hall from 7:00-10:00 am
Transportation from the airport
Travel from the airport takes 30-45 minutes. There are 3 forms of transportation: shuttle, taxi and local transit.

The fare is $2.50 + $0.25 each 1/8 of a mile. Let the driver know you need to get to Emory University Clifton Rd. and Woodruff Residential Center. This is near the CDC if the driver is not sure where the Center is.
Local transit
MARTA is Atlanta’s mass transportation rail service. It employs a rail line that takes you to stations where you get on buses to get to the destinations you require. Bring about $5 dollars with one dollar in quarters to ride MARTA. The actual fare should be around $2.25.
- At the airport take the MARTA train northbound to get to Lindbergh Station
- At Lindbergh Station take the Number 6 bus, it should say Emory on it
- Get off at a four way stop on Clifton Road. You should see the Schwartz Center of Performing Arts to your right and a Suntrust to your left (If you have problems just let the bus driver know you want to get off at Clifton Rd at Emory)
- On Clifton Road you should walk past the Emory Clinics and walk under a sky bridge that says Emory above it. Keep walking down this road until you reach Asbury Circle. You should keep walking down a little more and see Woodruff Residential Center. If you get lost just ask someone to direct you to the Woodruff Residential Center.
- Check in at Woodruff Residential Center.
Meals
Meals will be provided beginning with breakfast on Thursday, July 9th through lunch on Saturday, July 11th.
Breakfast will be served at the Whitehead Building (conference location) from 7:30-8:00am each day. Breakfast will include coffee, tea, pastries and bagels. A morning and afternoon break will be provided with beverages and snacks. Lunch will be cafeteria style at the Dobbs University Center, a 2 minute walk from the conference location. Dinner will be catered with both vegetarian and non vegetarian options on Thursday and Friday night. A dinner is being arranged at a local restaurant Saturday night for CMD clinical consortium participants and participants who are staying an additional night. The Saturday night dinner will take place at Mary Mac’s restaurant. A bus will pick up at 7pm in front of the Woodruff Residential center.
If you are staying until Sunday, July 12th as part of the CMD clinical consortium or due to flight package, please email Pat May at pat.may@curecmd.com to let him know you need an extra night of accommodation and will join the Saturday night dinner.
For those arriving by 7pm on Wed night, we will be meeting at 7pm in front of the Woodruff Residential center to walk together to Sabas restaurant in the Emory village (15-20 min walk). Dinner will start at 7:30pm. If you arrive prior to 10pm and would like to join us, click here to get link with a map (on bottom: Emory village). Restaurant address: 1451 Oxford Rd Ne, Atlanta, GA 30307-1046. For walking directions: take a left on Clifton (walking towards the hospital). Stay on Clifton all the way past N Decatur Rd. You will be in a neighborhood at this point. You will go right at Oxford Rd. It should be the 2nd intersection once you are in the neighborhood. Saba’s restaurant is on the left just as you exit the neighborhood after getting on Oxford Rd.
There are several local options for dinner on Wed, July 8th:
- Emory village (15 min walk down Clifton Road), there are several casual student eateries including: Starbucks, Panera Bread, Doc Chey’s Noodlehouse (Asian food), Everybody’s pizza (pizza and sandwiches) and Dave’s Cosmic Subs and Sabas (Italian food).
- Decatur (3 miles a way): Watershed and Wahoo Grill
- Le Giverny at Emory Inn: a French Bistro
- Restaurant at Emory Conference Center
