Whilst having dinner one night in September, Christopher asked if he could do “something” to raise money for people who “research things”….after some discussion, the who, what and how was worked out. Christopher is 10 years old and is the brain child of….“Pedal 4 Pierce”.
Pierce is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (CMD). CMD is a group of diseases causing muscle weakness at birth. Pierce is a brave young man who enjoys time with his family and friends, he loves chocolate and being a kid.
His first set of wheels won’t be a mountain bike or a car, he won’t be able to run like the wind or enjoy the things we all take for granted. Christopher’s vision is to try as hard as he can to make a difference for not only Pierce but others like him.

Stromlo Forest Park is a cyclists playground where we can all help raise much needed funds to assist the CureCMD Organisation, a not for profit organisation finding a treatment and cure for the Congenital Muscular Dystrophies.

The fun ride is just that, a fun event no matter who you are or what experience you have. This is not a race, just a time to enjoy the ride and raise money in doing so. Stromlo Forest Park boasts many great tracks, from the little kids track with roadside swings and play areas, to the international cross country and downhill tracks. Whether you ride on the dirt or the road, there is a track for you. “Pedal 4 Pierce” is a fundraiser for the whole family to enjoy.
Christopher has a trail mapped out called “Pierce’s Track” which is 4km long and takes you around the lower section of Stromlo. Christopher has challenged his Dad to ride 50Km’s and he will certainly do this! There will be refreshments available and a raffle with heaps of great prizes.
Join Pierce and his family as they sound the horn to start the ride and follow Christopher on “Pierce’s Track” before you decide on where you ride.
