Richard Cloud Accepts Position as CEO of Prothelia

To all those that have supported Cure CMD and our efforts to find a treatment and cure Congenital Muscular Dystrophy I am very thankful. To further my involvement with finding a treatment or cure for Muscular Dystrophy, I have been offered and have accepted the position of CEO, Prothelia, Inc. I am and will continue to be very supportive of the efforts of Cure CMD, however, in taking the CEO position at Prothelia, I must step down as the Chairman of Cure CMD. I am happy to announce that effective immediately, Anne Rutkowski will be the new Chairman of Cure CMD. Anne has dedicated a tremendous amount of her time and energy to Cure CMD bridging all aspects of the organization. I feel confident that Cure CMD will continue to grow and support the efforts under her leadership.

I am excited to be leading the only biopharmaceutical corporation solely focused on bringing treatment options to market for those affected by Muscular Dystrophy. We have several promising therapies in our pipeline that we will bring to market as quickly as possible. As the first step as the CEO, I have asked Prothelia’s scientific resources to work with me to build a defined therapeutic roadmap, based on achievable milestones and cost estimates for each of our therapeutic targets. With this roadmap, we will provide visability into the progress we are making to investors, advocacy and governmental agencies both nationally and internationally. We are very excited about our lead therapy, Laminin 111. Laminin 111 has shown great promise in the laboratory and positive feedback from leading researchers, but we still have much work to do to bring it to market. With focus, funding and support from the Muscular Dystrophy community, we will be successful together.

I have owned and been a leader within several organizations, but none as important as Protheila, where we have the potential to help thousands of individuals affected by Muscular Dystrophy (including my daughter, Ashley).

Thanks again for your support of Cure CMD and future support of Prothelia.

Rich Cloud
Former Chairman, Cure CMD
