MDA’S Augie’s Quest Reaches Goal Of $18 Million For ALS Research
The Muscular Dystrophy Association's Augie's Quest initiative has reached an important goal in funding research efforts that target a devastating disease. ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease) destroys nerve cells that control muscles. Complete paralysis and death typically occur within two to five years after diagnosis. MDA's ALS Division leads the search to find treatments and a cure for ALS.
